Adi Soemarmo Air Force base in Karanganyar, Central Java, has a new commander. Lt. Col. Kusworo handed over command of the unit to Lt. Col. Agus Radar Sucahyo during a ceremony at Dirgantara Square in the Adi Soemarmo Air Force base in Colomadu, Karanganyar, on Tuesday morning.
'Change of duty is a common and normal thing; it is a logical consequence of an institutional demand with the hope that it creates a dynamic working condition,' Air Force Education Command (Kodikau) commander Rear Marshall M. Nurullah, who led the inauguration ceremony, said.
According to Nurullah, the change of air force base commander was important in the dynamics of the life cycle of an organization. It was also a concrete effort to implement personal career development, he added.
Kusworo will be the Kodikau's personnel director, replacing his predecessor, Sucahyo.
'It is hoped that Kodikau's educational activities will be more professional,' said Nurullah.
During his term as Adi Soemarmo Air Force base commander, Kusworo, who will soon be granted the military rank of colonel, was widely known as a figure who was open and close with the media.
According to him, media sources should be involved in the work of the institution and be treated as an equal partner with each institution supporting one another.
'I'm grateful that I have worked on my responsibilities well and I hope that the positive relationship with the media will be maintained,' said Kusworo, who commanded the Adi Soemarmo Air Force base from December 2011 to August 2013.
Similarly, Sucahyo said that he wanted to maintain and continue what his predecessor had done. (hrl/ebf)
