orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Abraham Samad said the commission would soon name the regional leaders that allegedly paid bribes to former Constitutional Court chief justice Akil Mochtar as suspects in various cases.

He said KPK investigators had managed to garner solid evidence that would prove the leaders'€™ involvement in a number of bribery cases.

'€œWe will hold a case expose in two or three days to identify the regional leaders that will be named suspects,'€ he said on Wednesday.

To date, only Gunung Mas Regent Hambit Bintih has been brought to trial over charges of paying Rp 3 billion in bribes to Akil. Prosecutors have sought six years in prison for Hambit.

However, besides Hambit, nine other regional leaders were mentioned during the trial as being related to the bribery cases involving Akil Mochtar.

The nine regional leaders were South Lampung regent and deputy regent, Rycko Menoza and Eki Setyanto, Buton Regent Samsu Umar Abdul Samiun, Morotai Islands Regent Rusli Sibua, Central Tapanuli Regent Raja Bonaran Situmeang, Banten Governor Ratu Atut Choisiyah, former Lebak deputy regent Amir Hamzah, Empat Lawang Regent Budi Antoni Aljufri, Palembang Mayor Romi Herton and East Java Governor Soekarwo.
