President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has expressed his support for the expansion of Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, Central Java, following a rejection of the plan by State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan.

The President's support was conveyed during his attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony for PT Indonesia Power's gas pipeline in Semarang on Friday.

Your comments:

Obviously, Dahlan has never arrived internationally to Semarang and faced the nightmare of long lines and getting his bags out with no help in a cramped space and no trolleys with the roof leaking.

Also, he obviously has never had to park his car ' the airport has incresed its flights from five a day to over 25 a day and the car park has only become smaller.

The taxi area is a joke trying to fit 50 people with luggage into a small area of 5-by-2 meters.

There are not enough seats in the mornings in the waiting areas, forcing people to pay Rp 60,000 to enter a lounge that is just as bad as the waiting area.

Semarang airport as it is today is a joke and an embarrassment to the Central Java government and a massive inconvenience to passengers.

President Yudhoyono, please push this through before you leave us!
