apanese carmanufacturer Datsun Indonesia launched its low cost green car (LCGC) the DatsunGo+ Panca at the Nissan Plant II in Karawang, West Java, on Thursday.
The Datsun Go+ has a retail price of between Rp 85 million (US$7,310) and Rp 103 million.
"That is the on-the-road price for cars sold in Jakarta," Nissan's corporate vice president Datsun Business Vincent Cobee told reporters on the sidelines of the launch as quoted by Antara news agency.
Datsun is a brand owned by Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor Company.
Cobee said that the cars would be available for the customers in June.
"But, they can start order the new Datsun car today," he said, adding that the LCGC was developed with Nissan technology even though the price was low.
Datsun Go+ Panca has a 1.2 liter engine with an output of 68 horsepower (HP) and five-speed manual transmission.
Meanwhile, PT Nissan Motor Indonesia national sales executive vice president Yoshiya Horigome said the firm has set a target to sell 40,000 cars until March 2015.
The firm is targeting new small families and first-time buyers customers. (nfo)
