View all search resultselebrating Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, Nestlé Indonesia partnered with Millennials Empowerment and the community of Buntu village, Central Java, to launch the #BersamaNestlé: Tanamkan Kebaikan, Ciptakan Manfaat (#TogetherWithNestlé: through goodwill, for impact) program in Dieng, Central Java.
The program served as a tangible symbol of the spirit of independence, strengthening unity and encouraging concrete action for the nation's progress.
Held over three days, the program featured a diverse series of events combining community empowerment with environmental conservation. These included skills training for Family Welfare Movement (PKK) mothers, tree planting in erosion-prone areas, distribution of books and learning packages for children, revitalization of the village library and strategic discussions on village development with local officials and communities.
Members of the Buntu village farmer group, along with Nestle Indonesia, plant rain trees in an erosion-prone area as a concrete effort to preserve the environment and strengthen the resilience of nature in the Dieng Plateau. This activity was part of the #BersamaNestlé: Tanamkan Kebaikan, Ciptakan Manfaat series, which not only provides ecological benefits through reforestation but also encourages active community participation in building a greener, healthier and more sustainable villageResidents and participants also enjoyed local arts performances and a folk festival to celebrate independence. In addition, thousands of Nestlé products, including TRIX, KOKO KRUNCH, MILO, DANCOW, MAGGI and BEAR BRAND, were distributed to residents of Buntu village.
Sufintri Rahayu, director of corporate affairs and sustainability at Nestlé Indonesia, said the company believed the true spirit of independence was realized by working together to create positive change that empowers people, strengthens communities and preserves the environment.
“The activities we are implementing today are a concrete manifestation of our Creating Shared Value philosophy, bringing shared benefits to individuals and families, communities and the planet, for a healthier, greener and more sustainable future for Indonesia."
Hundreds of Buntu village children aged 6–12 years old participate in the communal breakfast and receive reading books and learning packages held at SD 1 and SD 2 state elementary schools in Buntu. The activity supported by Trix, Koko Krunch, Milo, Dancow and Bear Brand was part of #BersamaNestle: Tanamkan Kebaikan, Ciptakan Manfaat to support children's growth and development while fostering a passion for learningThe activities also had special significance as they were held near one of Nestlé Indonesia's factories, the Bandaraya factory. Through the program in Buntu village Nestlé is connecting with the surrounding community while also demonstrating its commitment to contribute directly to the environment and communities surrounding its operations.
Nestlé's commitment to Creating Shared Value (CSV) is reflected in various sustainability achievements, such as a 20.38 percent reduction in carbon emissions since 2018, a 21.3 percent acceleration of the regenerative raw material supply target a year early and support for 10.2 million young people in accessing economic opportunities since 2017.
In the agriculture and livestock sector, Nestlé Indonesia assists thousands of dairy farmers in East Java and coffee farmers in Lampung, and develops environmentally friendly infrastructure such as biogas and waste disposal (TPS3R).
As part of its long-term vision, the company is targeting net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 through reducing plastic waste, implementing sustainability strategies in the supply chain and supporting a circular economy. One concrete manifestation of this is the #BersamaNestlé: Tanamkan Kebaikan, Ciptakan Manfaat program, which teaches recycling principles and inspires communities to reduce their carbon footprint and create a clean and healthy environment.
Harjanto, head of the government, social and cultural affairs division of the Wonosobo city Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), noted that activities like #BersamaNestlé: Tanamkan Kebaikan, Ciptakan Manfaat not only provided tangible benefits for the people of Buntu village, but also served as an important opportunity to revive the spirit of mutual cooperation, social awareness and village independence.
PKK members from Buntu village, Kejajar district, Wonosobo, Central Java, collaborated with MAGGI in training on creating snacks using local produce, as part of the #BersamaNestle: Tanamkan Kebaikan, Ciptakan Manfaat series, which aims to equip new skills, open business opportunities and encourage economic independence for families and village communities“These values are the foundation of our nation's independence and must be continuously preserved and passed on to the younger generation. Through collaboration between the government, the private sector and the community, we demonstrate that sustainable development can only be achieved if all parties work together, strengthen each other and commit to a common goal for a better future," he said.
From the organizers and the government to the participants, everyone agreed that this activity provided an inspiring platform for collaboration.
"As a mother and the head of the Family Welfare Movement [PKK], I found this activity very beneficial. Not only did we learn new skills to develop the village's potential, but we were also encouraged to care for environmental sustainability. I feel proud to be able to contribute to our village, especially during this independence celebration," said Nur Solikhah, the head of the PKK in Buntu village.
Through the #BersamaNestlé: Tanamkan Kebaikan, Ciptakan Manfaat activity, Nestlé Indonesia emphasizes that true independence is realized when society, the environment and future generations move together in the spirit of independence and unity, to build a healthier, greener and more sustainable future for Indonesia.
