J

uventus will play against Indonesian Super League (ISL) All Stars when it stops in Jakarta on the Asian Tour in August.

The Turin-based club will bring its best players, including Carlos Tevez, Gianluigi Buffon and midfielder maestro Andrea Pirlo.

'€œWe are very excited to start our Asian tour in such an important country as Indonesia, where the passion for soccer and Juventus is extraordinary and we have such a strong fan base,'€ Juventus head of global partnerships Nicola Verdun told a press conference on Wednesday.

He added that his team would be ready to put on their best performance during the friendly match on Aug. 6 at Bung Karno Stadium in Senayan, Central Jakarta. The match will be broadcast live by MNCTV.

Verdun also revealed that Italy'€™s elimination from the World Cup in Brazil would mean those players in the national squad will be able to take part in Juventus'€™ Asia Tour.

Italy is among the European teams that had to leave the World Cup early. Italy won 2-1 against England but suffered 1-0 defeats at the hands of Costa Rica and Uruguay. The final match was tainted by a biting incident by Uruguay'€™s Luis Suarez.

Soccer legend Edgar Davids, ambassador of the Bianconeri (the white and black), said that he was delighted to be heading to Jakarta again.

Davids came to Jakarta for the first time in February 2012 where he participated in a Starbol event alongside Marco Materazzi, Robert Pires and Fabio Cannavaro.

'€œIt'€™s great to be in a country with such a great passion for soccer,'€ he said, adding that he had played in some biggest stadiums in the world but he found that the energy and enthusiasm of Indonesian fans was second to none.

A representative from ISL'€™s technical study group in charge of the selection of players to take on Juventus, Tommy Welly, said that he hoped that players would learn from the 32-time Italian League Serie A winners.

CEO of the event'€™s promoter Nine Sport, Arif Wicaksono, said that he was thrilled that Juventus would be in Indonesia this year.

'€œThey are one of the best soccer teams in the world and it is a privilege for Indonesia to see them in our stadium,'€ he said.

Tickets for the match will be divided into six categories ranging from Rp 150,000 (US$12.40) to Rp 2.5 million.

Juventus will continue their summer tour with a fixture against the A-League All Star team on Aug. 10 in Sydney before its final stop on Aug. 16 in Singapore.
