The 116-kilometer Cipali toll road, which connects Cikopo and Palimanan, will host a duathlon event titled the Cipali Duo Challenge on May 24, according to toll road constructor and operator PT Lintas Marga Sedaya (LMS).

'€œThe Cipali Duo Challenge invites people to help raise awareness of the toll road project, which is nearing completion and will soon be available for use. Through this event, people are expected to experience the longest toll road in Indonesia before it goes into operation,'€ LMS director Edwin Sas Soenarto said in a release on Monday.

The Cipali Duo Challenge, which starts at the Cikopo toll gate, offers two categories of duathlon '€” a short distance competition with a 20-km bike race and a 5-km run, and a long distance one with a 90-km bike and 21-km run.

Notable triathlete Reza Puspo, who has founded the Indorunners community, was confirmed to join the event.

'€œThis event is a good occasion to forge ahead with our campaign to make running people'€™s lifestyle. The event will bring more awareness among people about Cipali'€™s existence,'€ Reza said.

Edwin hoped the toll road, which began construction in 2013, could be completed in time to help ease traffic congestion during this year'€™s Idul Fitri, when a large number of vehicles will make their way east along the northern part of Java.
