View all search resultscar and a Transjakarta bus were hit by a train at a railway crossing in Mangga Dua, North Jakarta at 4.25 a.m. on Thursday, the drivers of the bus and car both sustained minor injuries but no fatalities were reported in the incident.
KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) spokeswoman Eva Charunisa assured commuters that the incident would not disrupt the running of the commuter line, which transports at least 5 million passengers from surrounding regions to Jakarta every day.
“During the incident, no commuter-line train was scheduled. It has not disrupted the train schedule this morning,” she said as quoted by Tempo on Thursday.
As reported by Kompas.com, PT KAI operation region 1 spokesperson Bambang S Prayitno declined to elaborate on the cause of the incident, except to say that “the warning signs are there to be obeyed by all road users.”
In the official twitter account of the Jakarta Police’s traffic management center the incident was reported to have caused traffic congestion in the area of Mangga Dua Square. (ags)
