ndonesian Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said celebrated his second wedding with a modest ceremony on Sunday morning in Jakarta, a day before the start of Ramadhan, the Muslim fasting month.

Sudirman married Astried Swastika Ayuningtyas, a former journalist for economic and business magazine Swa who currently works as the corporate secretary for Sarana Multi Inrastruktur.

“Allow me to inform you that this morning I held a wedding ceremony [..] Having been a ‘solo player’ for several years, allow me to ask for your prayers and blessings to start a new life as a ‘duo player’,” Sudirman stated in a message to the Indonesian Chief Editor clubs.

Sudirman, a widower with six children, married Astried, a widower with one child.

The Islamic wedding ceremony (akad nikah) was held at the house of his spouse in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, at 7 a.m.

“My apologies for not having invited all the Chief Editors. We held a very simple wedding, only the akad nikah,” Sudirman further said. (ags)
