View all search resultshe Communications and Information Ministry has announced the names of 47 candidates for new commissioners on the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI).
The candidates include lecturers, journalists, activists, businessmen, a doctor and nine individuals currently serving as regional members of the commission.
The ministry said all of the candidates would undergo interview sessions with the commission’s selection committee, which consists of 11 experts from various backgrounds, from June 13 to 15.
It added the committee would on June 27 announce the names of 27 hopefuls to undergo a fit and proper test at the House of Representatives, before the lawmakers would finally nominate nine new KPI commissioners for the period of 2016-2019.
The candidates include media researcher Ignatius Haryanto, Tifa Foundation media expert Redemptus Kristiawan, senior journalist Mayong Suryo Laksono, advocate Aldwin Rahadian, pediatrician Ismi Nita and Eka Wenats Wuryanta of Paramadina University. (vps/bbn)
