View all search resultsndonesia’s largest lender in terms of assets, Bank Mandiri, is preparing Rp 25.4 trillion (US$1.89 billion) in cash, equating to Rp 1.15 trillion per day, to meet customer needs from June 20 to July 11.
Of the figure, Rp 21.6 trillion or 85 percent would be allocated for ATMs while the remainder would be for branch offices, said the bank’s corporate secretary Rohan Hafas.
“It aims to ensure the supply for people’s daily demands and to help customers who need large amounts of money,” Rohan said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Bank Mandiri will also maintain operations by opening 200 of its branches alternately during the holiday on July 4, 5, 7 and 8, and would serve deposit receipts from gas stations and limited banking transactions, he said.
The banking transactions set to be available during the holiday, he added, were cash withdrawals, cash deposits and transfers between Bank Mandiri accounts.
As for providing people with brand new, crisp banknotes in small denominations – which are favored for Idul Fitri gifts among family members – the bank will provide a banknote exchange outlet at the National Monument (Monas) from June 13 until 24. (sha/ags)
