View all search resultsresident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will kick off two toll road projects in Central Java following the inauguration of two sections of the province’s Pejagan-Pemalang toll road on Thursday, in a bid to speed up development.
During his working visit to the region, the President will attend the groundbreaking of the Pemalang-Batang toll road and Batang-Semarang toll road in Pasekaran village, Batang, Central Java, according to an official statement.
The two roads are part of the trans-Java toll road project linking the northwestern and eastern tips of Java, from Banyuwangi in East Java to Merak in West Java.
He urged the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry to regularly monitor the construction to ensure the quality and timely completion of the projects, as well as to identify permit and land issues in the field.
Following the completion of the projects, the government will focus on a Lampung-Aceh toll road project in Sumatra.
