View all search resultshe Law and Human Rights Ministry’s Central Java correctional institutions division head, Moelyanto, has said 3,948 inmates currently serving sentences in prisons across the province will receive remissions for Idul Fitri.
Of the total, 68 inmates will be freed once they receive their remissions.
“The inmates who will receive remissions are those involved in general criminal cases. The remissions are delivered based on the Law and Human Rights Ministry’s Central Java head’s decree,” Moelyanto said recently.
He said 326 inmates were still waiting for decrees on their remissions from the Law and Human Rights Ministry in Jakarta. They were serving time for special crimes, including corruption, terrorism and drug offenses.
“They will get the remission decrees after Idul Fitri,” he said. (ebf)
