City-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) plan to adjust its hours of operation for Idul Fitri.
City-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) plan to adjust its hours of operation for Idul Fitri.
“As a public service, Transjakarta will continue to provide a transportation service for customers. However, we will make adjustments to our hours of operation on the eve of Idul Fitri. The schedule will depend on the situation," Transjakarta spokesperson Prasetia Budi said on Tuesday.
“The schedule will be set in accordance with possible congestion. We anticipate that this will be seen on most roads because many people usually travel in convoy on the eve of Idul Fitri, causing traffic build up on public roads or in the vicinity of mosques located close to Transjakarta routes,” he said.
As the first day of Idul Fitri will fall on Wednesday, he said that the buses would operate starting from 9:00 a.m. in order to allow Transjakarta workers to perform the Idul Fitri prayer. (Sha/iwa)
