tate electricity company (PLN) will focus on chasing a 18,485-megawatt (MW) power purchasing agreement (PPA) contract in 2016, a company official said.
PLN corporate secretary Bambang Dwiyanto said that from the targeted 35,000 MW project; PLN had taken 9,638 MW, while the remaining 27,047 MW would be handled by an independent power plant (IPP).
“That will be the focus this year,” Bambang Dwiyanto told The Jakarta Post on the sidelines of the Post's event, Accelerating Infrastructure Development, on Tuesday.
According to PLN data, only 195 MW of 35,000 MW is ready while 8,215 MW is still in the construction phase, with 9,790 MW in the financial closing process and 10,405 MW in the procurement phase. The remaining 8,080 MW is in the planning phase.
“The power plant is a long-term project, mobile power plants will be completed faster,” Bambang told the Post. (dan)
