hirteen high-ranking police officers were promoted on Thursday at the National Police headquarters in a ceremony presided over by National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian.

Three brigadiers general were promoted to inspectors general. They are North Sulawesi police chief Insp. Gen. Wilmar Marpaung, West Kalimantan Police chief Insp. Gen. Musyafak and National Police Insp. Gen. Bambang Kridtiyono.

The remaining 10 senior commissioners were promoted to brigadiers general, including West Kalimantan Police deputy chief Brig. Gen. Joko Irianto, North Sulawesi Police deputy chief Brig. Gen. Sutrisno Yudi Hermawan and National Police history center chief Brig. Gen. Istu Hari Winarto. Several other new brigadiers general, Brig. Gen. Tri Agus Prasetyo, Brig. Gen. Narullah, Brig. Gen. Syamsul Hidayat, Brig. Gen. Eko Daniyanto, Brig. Gen. I Gede Alidwidana, Brig. Gen. Mariyanto and Brig. Gen. Tri Ananta, have been assigned to other institutions.

The promotion of the 13 high-ranking police officers refers to Presidential Decree No. 61/2016 issued on Aug. 15, as quoted by Antara news agency.  (dmr)
