ollowing the sound of a small explosion, flames billowed out from a drain that was currently being renovated on Jl. Margonda Raya in Depok, West Java, on Thursday afternoon.
No injuries were reported but the incident caused heavy congestion on the road.
Depok Bina Marga (Roads) and Water Agency official Hardiman said the fire occurred when the workers were dismantling a layer of asphalt above the drain near Detos shopping center.
“We have yet to find the cause of the fire and the explosion,” he said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He said fire fighters suspected that there was a gas pipe under the road.
