Leo Consul boasts the classic rags-to-riches life story. He grew up in a poor village in the Philippines and decided to leave his family and everything he knew back home to pursue a career in the uncharted territory of Indonesia. Entertainment was not his original calling; he started out teaching mathematics and English at an international school in Jakarta but soon realized that the job wasn’t for him. It was then that a recording label asked him to record a song; although it did not work out, it led to a stint as a chef on a TV show. Now, Leo is more than just a triple threat in entertainment: he’s a TV host, chef, singer, dancer, actor and a writer (he penned his own autobiography) – and the 29-year-old says he’s just getting started.
