he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has apprehended an official from the Finance Ministry's Directorate General of Taxation in a sting operation.
“Yes, [we have made an arrest]. Wait for the press conference this morning,” KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo said in a text message as reported by kompas.com on Tuesday.
The KPK will hold the press conference after the antigraft body questions the suspect and conducts a case screening.
According to unsubstantiated information, the tax official allegedly received a bribe from a businessman who wanted to get a tax deduction.
So far, the number of people who have been arrested related to the sting operation and where the suspect or suspects were apprehended has not yet been made public.(jun)
