person of many talents, Bisma Karisma is a Best New Actor nominee at the indie Piala Maya Awards this year for his lead role in action drama Juara (Champion).
Best known for being a member of boyband SM*SH, the 26-year-old had a stint as a drummer, percussionist and vocalist of various bands. His dancing talent led him to being named the winner of the Let’s Dance Goes to Japan contest held by a TV station.
As SM*SH relaxed its activities, Bisma started a solo career, marked by the release of a single titled “Lakukanlah” (Do It with Passion), which he wrote and composed in mid-2014. He appeared in a number of teen soaps before landing roles on the big screen, his debut of which was in the film Nada Untuk Asa (Melody for Asa).
Bisma also wrote and performed “Pemeran Pengganti” (The Substitute) for the Juara soundtrack.
The Bandung-born artist finished shooting his latest film in October. The film, Silariang (Elope), was shot in three cities in South Sulawesi, where he fell ill due to fatigue.
To maintain his health, Bisma said he relied on a mobile app to make sure he got enough sleep.
“I really need to have a good night’s rest and need to be reminded about it. Don’t artists often skip bedtime?” he quipped.

Apple devices
I previously used a Nokia and I think its marketing slogan of “connecting people” was effective. But now I prefer using Apple products. I have a 128 GB iPhone 6 and use a MacBook Pro, iMac and iPad mini. I started using an iPhone 2G several years ago and upgraded to an iPhone 4 before the current one.
The iOS system is easy to operate, I call it a humane system, and it’s in sync with other products of the same make. I can shift from a smartphone to a laptop easily.
I only buy the gadgets I need and I don’t have a special budget for them. I will use my phone until it breaks before replacing it.
In choosing a telecommunications device, it’s best to know why the maker, in this case Steve Jobs, invented the product.

Mobile apps
I have nearly all social media platform apps on my phone. I use them as well as other devices for work and leisure, such as playing games.
But one of the most frequently used apps on the iOS system is VSCO, the photo editor with film-style image filters for smartphone photographers.
Bedtime app is very useful to calculate the number of hours I spend sleeping by analyzing my motions and device usage. It stores the data inside Apple’s Health app. These applications can give me accurate personalized health recommendations.
