upporters of the three Jakarta gubernatorial election tickets have been banned from carrying large campaign materials, such as flags and banners, to the venue of the second official debate slated for tonight.
South Jakarta Police spokesman Comr. Purwanta said on Friday that excessive shows of support could lead to conflict.
“We hope this event runs smoothly and peacefully,” he said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

He added that not all supporters would be allowed to enter the venue.
“We will possibly provide big TV screens outside the building for supporters to watch the debate live,” Purwanta said.
All those intending to attend the debate will be required to go through a security check, he added.
The second debate will kick off at the Bidakara Hotel in South Jakarta at 8 p.m. The candidates will discuss three topics, namely bureaucratic reform, public services and spatial planning. (bbs)
