he Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU Jakarta) has warned the campaign teams of all Jakarta gubernatorial candidates to deactivate their registered social media accounts before Feb. 12, which is the start of the election cooling-off period.
“Official accounts of each candidate should be deactivated before Feb. 12,” KPU Jakarta head Sumarno said at KPU Jakarta headquarters in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.
He said the city’s Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) and the police’s cybercrime unit would ensure that none of the accounts operated during the cooling-off period from Feb. 12 to Feb. 14.
