The Jakarta administration inaugurated 112 child-friendly integrated public spaces (RPTRA) on Tuesday.

Of the 112 inaugurated RPTRAs, 28 are in North Jakarta, 21 are in South Jakarta, 22 are in West Jakarta, 26 are in East Jakarta, and 15 are in Central Jakarta.

With the inauguration, the city now has 188 RPTRAs, said Jakarta's Women Empowerment, Family Planning and Child Protection Agency head, Dien Emawati, adding that 123 of them were built using Rp 151.7 billion (US$11.4 million) from the city's 2016 budget.

"Eleven of them have already been inaugurated while the 112 others are those which were inaugurated today," said Dien at the inauguration ceremony at the City Hall.

Meanwhile, the remaining 65 RPTRAs were constructed and developed through the corporate social responsibility schemes of private companies, like PT Nestle Indonesia, PT Sinar Mas Land and PT Agung Podomoro Land.

The inauguration was attended by Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama as he signed inauguration plaques for the 112 RPTRAs.
