Night of jazz on festival's last day

World renowned acts will highlight the final day of the three-day Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2017, with Grammy Award-winning superstar Ne-Yo to headline the festival at the JIExpo exhibition hall in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.

inger, composer, producer and actor Ne-Yo has sold more than 10 million albums and won three Grammys. He has also written and produced chart-topping hits for top stars, from Beyonce and Rihanna to Celine Dion.

On Sunday, Ne-Yo is scheduled to attract a crowd with his sets at Hall B3 at 6:45 p.m. right after a performance by Indonesian crooner Glenn Fredly.

Sunday’s festival opens with simultaneous performances of Sisitipsi at the Lobby Stage, Barasuara featuring Ron King Horn section at Hall A1, Fareed Haque featuring Tony Monaco and David Manuhutu at Hall C2 starting at around 3 p.m.

Folk duo Endah N’ Rhesa is set to introduce a new style of musical performance through collaboration with DuaDrum at the outdoor stage 1.

The festival, which boasts 14 stages, four of them outdoor, will close with a performance by Grammy-nominated jazz-fusion group Chieli Minucci & Special EFX featuring Eric Marienthal and Lao Tizer at Hall D3, which will take place simultaneously with Dwiki Dharmawan’s Pasar Klewer at Hall A1 at 11:15 p.m. (ste)
