he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named three more people suspects in a corruption case related to the construction of a state-run Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) campus in Rokan Hilir, Riau, on Tuesday.
“The KPK has found enough preliminary evidence to move forward its investigation into the case,” said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah on Tuesday.
Dudi Jocom, one of the three suspects, is an official at the Home Ministry’s central finance administration and asset management department who acted as the commitment official of the project. The two others are Budi Rahmat Kurniawan and Bambang Mustaqim. Budi was a former executive at construction company Hutama Karya while Bambang was a senior manager at the same company.
The suspects allegedly misused their authority to enrich themselves or the corporation in the Rp 91.62 billion (US$6.85 million) construction project. The KPK estimates that the corruption caused state losses of Rp 34 billion, which came from the Home Ministry’s 2011 budget.
Dudy and Budi were also allegedly involved in a similar corruption case related to the construction of an IPDN campus in Agam regency, West Sumatra. (mrc/ebf)
