ndonesian speedster Sean Gelael is getting closer to his Formula One dream after nailing a test driver role at Scuderia Toro Rosso (STR) in 2017 season’s Bahrain, Hungry and Abu Dhabi races.
“Meanwhile in Faenza, seat-fitting for @gelaelized. Welcome Sean! He will be our test driver in Bahrain, Hungary and Abu Dhabi,” wrote STR on its official Twitter account, @tororossospy.
The tweet was retweeted by Sean’s FIA Formula Two team, Jagonya Ayam, account, @TeamJagonyaAyam.
Jagonya Ayam, the Indonesian arm of Kentucky Fried Chicken, also posted an image of the STR car in its blue Red Bull color, and wrote: “@gelaelized will drive this #F1 beauty”
Sean made his GP2 Series debut with Campos last season, scoring a maiden podium in Austria, and will this year remain in the re-branded F2 series with the Arden team for 2017.
Italy’s STR is the junior team of F1’s Red Bull Racing.
