Jakartans will enjoy multiple rides on angkot(public minivans)for Rp 10,000 (75 US cents) a month, an executive has said.
Angkot cooperative Koperasi Wahana Kalpika (KWK) will launch Sahabat KWK cards, which will be valid for multiple rides to Transjakarta bus stops from 5 to 9 a.m. and from 4 to 9 p.m., as part of the integration of services between the KWK and Transjakarta.
“The concept of this integration will hopefully increase the use of public transportation, especially angkots and Transjakarta buses. Our services will also be expanded and more accessible,” president director of Transjakarta Budi Kaliwono said as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com on Wednesday.
Budi said the integration would bring more advantages, such as attracting more customers and lower public transportation fares.
Sahabat KWK cards can be purchased at a bus terminal for Rp 10,000 (75 US cents). Each card is valid for a month.
The integration program will be launched on April 1 in five spots around the city, with some 2,000 angkots to join the program, out of 6,000 angkots operated under the cooperative.
The KWK and Transjakarta signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on service integration on Wednesday. (dea)
