ncumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama said he would introduce a program that ensured all Jakarta residents received adequate health care.
Ahok said he would recruit many doctors for his Gold Program, which would ensure that every doctor took care of the health of 5,000 residents in densely populated areas.
“We want to take care of residents from conception to old age,” he said.
Ahok said program’s prototype had been designed in the past year and he would soon evaluate it.
“I will also see the obstacles faced in the field in the past year,” he said as quoted by wartakotalive.com on Thursday.
Ahok added that the city administration provided free healthcare services, but residents still needed to pay to go to healthcare facilities. “[This program] is more about preventive care.” (vny)
