akarta Police criminal unit investigators are scheduled to question Hutomo "Tommy" Mandala Putra, the son of the former president Soeharto, in his capacity as a witness for treason suspect Firza Husein.
"The police have summoned Tommy Soeharto as the witness for Firza, but we have yet to receive confirmation as to whether he will show up," Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said on Friday.
Tommy was scheduled to be questioned at 11 a.m. on Friday. However, Argo refused to give details on the questioning, saying more information would be disclosed at a later time.
Firza was one of eleven people arrested for alleged treason shortly before the Dec. 2 rally against Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama in Central Jakarta. Firza, who claims to be the coordinator of the Sahabat Cendana Solidarity Foundation, is suspected to have funded the rally. (dea)
