tate-owned aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) will carry out maintenance on Airbus helicopters following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during French President François Hollande's visit to Jakarta on Wednesday.
With the MoU, Airbus helicopters will help PTDI develop local support and services by setting up relevant maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities in Indonesia.
PTDI technology and development director Andi Alisjahbana said the MoU would boost PTDI's MRO services.

"We have bought many Airbus products and the MoU is momentum to boost MRO services in Indonesia," Andi told The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
Andi added that Indonesian airline maintenance contracts were worth US$920 million a year and was expected to reach $2 billion over the next four years. However, due to a lack of maintenance facilities, only 30 percent of the contracts went to Indonesian MRO.
"The rest went to neighboring countries like Singapore and Australia," he said. (bbn)
