akarta commuter train operator KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) has said residents have welcomed the new Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang train line, which was officially opened on Saturday.
“The enthusiasm of passengers is high. They used to take a local train, but now they are trying to get accustomed to traveling to Rangkasbitung on a commuter train,” KCJ spokesperson Eva Chairunisa said as quoted by kompas.com.
As of Saturday afternoon, Eva said 3,478 people had bought tickets for the line at Rangkasbitung Station, while 980 people traveling to Rangkasbitung and Citeras bought tickets at Tanah Abang Station.
Meanwhile, 439 people have bought multi-trip electronic cards at Rangkasbitung Station, she said.
Trains will make 16 sixteen round trips on the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang line every day. The first train departs from Rangkasbitung at 4 a.m., while the last train departs at 8:40 p.m.
At Tanah Abang Station, the first train to Rangkasbitung will depart at 5:50 a.m. while the last train is at 9:45 a.m. A one-way trip takes 30 to 60 minutes. (wnd/ebf)
