he Bogor administration in West Java is set to build an alternative route to Puncak, Bogor’s resort and tourism area that is notorious for traffic congestion, especially during holidays.
The new route would stretch from Cibeureum to Citeko in Cisarua, Puncak, said Bogor Regent Nurhayati.
“We hope that the opening of this new route will resolve the congestion problem in Puncak,” she said as quoted by tempo.co on Wednesday.
Some plots of land on which the new route would be built, she said, belonged to state-owned plantation company PTPN. However, the administration has cooperated with the company in shifting the land’s function to public roads.
Once the route was operational, the Bogor administration would take charge of maintaining it.
“This new route will not only help ease traffic, but would also boost local economic opportunities,” Nurhayati said. (dea)
