View all search resultsresident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attended a groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of the airport railway at Adisumarno Airport in Boyolali, Central Java, on Saturday.
The construction of the 13.5-kilometer railway, connecting the airport with Solo Balapan Station was to make public transportation service more efficient, Jokowi said in his speech, as quoted by kompas.com, adding that the railway is to be completed in 2018.
"We target it to be completed in two years," the President said.
Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini M. Soemarno and Central Java governor Ganjar Pranowo also attended the ceremony.
During his visit to the province, Jokowi visited Bawen-Salatiga toll road project and inaugurated Kholifatulloh Singo Ludiro Islamic Boarding School in Mojolaban, Sukoharjo regency. (yon/bbn)
