T

he Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU Jakarta) has urged gubernatorial election candidates to prepare their campaign fund report as this Sunday is their last chance to file the report.

April 16, a day after the campaign period ended, is the deadline set by the commission, said the KPU Jakarta commissioner, Dahliah Umar.

After the commission received the reports from both incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja and his rival, Anies Baswedan, the KPU Jakarta would work together with public accountants to audit the reports.

“We will audit it for 14 days before we announce the audit result,” Dahliah said as quoted by kompas.com on Monday.

The auditor, she said, would be able to assess if the campaign funds were used by both candidates to finance the campaign in accordance to the regulations or not.

“The candidates can use the remaining funds from the first round in this runoff campaign,” said Dahliah.(idb)
