The services of angkot public minivans in Jakarta will soon be integrated with those of Transjakarta buses, an official has said.
“In the future, all existing public transportation must be integrated with Transjakarta,” said Jakarta Transportation Agency head Andri Yansyah as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com on Monday.
In order to better integrate the services, the agency will redesign all angkot routes so that they do not overlap with those of Transjakarta buses, Andri said.
“We will tolerate a 20 percent overlap at most,” he added.
The agency will rearrange 125 routes of the 13,000 angkot across Jakarta.
Previously, Transjakarta signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with one angkot operator, Koperasi Wahana Kalpika, on March 22.
The partnership symbolized Transjakarta’s commitment to serving the public better by utilizing angkot as feeder vehicles for transportation services. (dea)
