One more death reported in multiple-vehicle collision in Puncak

The latest report from the Bogor Police’s traffic division says four people have been killed in a crash involving numerous vehicles on Jl. Raya Puncak, Megamendung District, West Java.

he latest report from the Bogor Police’s traffic division says four people have been killed in a crash involving numerous vehicles on Jl. Raya Puncak in Megamendung district, Bogor regency, West Java. 

Police data name the victims as Dadang, Jainudin, Oktariyansyah Purnama Putra and Diana Simatupang.

As reported by antaranews.com, the accident, which also left 20 people injured, happened when a tourism bus driven by Bambang Hernowo was heading to Jakarta from the Puncak area. 

The driver lost control of the bus, reportedly due to a malfunctioning brake system, on the Selarong downhill road and hit several vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and public transportation vehicles, the agency reported.

The material losses from the accident are estimated at Rp 500 million.

The head of the Bogor Police’s traffic accident unit, Ins. Asep, said the bus driver had no driver’s license or vehicle registration document (STNK). He added that the bus also did not have a vehicle roadworthiness test (KIR) license. (rdi/dan).
