View all search resultshe central government has vowed to widen Jl. Raya Puncak in Bogor, West Java. The road will be widened from seven meters in width to 11 meters.
Bogor regent Nurhayati said the widening would reduce traffic congestion and minimize traffic accidents.
"Because the status of the road is a national one, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has agreed to widen the road," she said as quoted by tempo.co on Wednesday.
Puncak has seen fatal traffic accidents claim 13 lives recently.
Nurhayati added that the President had also agreed to continue the development of an alternative road from Sentul to Cipanas Palace in Cianjur.
The regent has also asked the authorities of Cisarua and Megamendung districts to open up alternative roads for visitors from Bogor. (vny)
