cting Jakarta governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat vows to continue non-active governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama’s morning routine of welcoming residents who want to voice their complaints or take pictures with him at City Hall every morning.
Djarot said on Wednesday that, starting from Friday, all working units would deploy a person to serve people at City Hall’s veranda.
“Those who have complaints related to education, for example, will file their complaint through a person assigned by the education agency,” Djarot told journalists at City Hall on Wednesday, adding that he would monitor each working unit.
Over the past few weeks, hundreds of people flocked to City Hall every morning to either voice their complaints to Ahok or take pictures with him.
Ahok is currently detained at the National Police’s Mobile Brigade Detention Center after the North Jakarta District Court declared him guilty of blasphemy. He has been sentenced to two years in prison.
