he body of man identified as Suryo Utomo, a lecturer at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) who had been missing since Wednesday, was found on Saturday evening floating in the Cirata reservoir in Cianjur regency, West Java.

Police found the body after receiving a report from citizens of nearby village. The body was reportedly discovered by children from the village.

Suryo was reported missing after accompanying his mother to Leuwi Panjang bus terminal in Bandung on Wednesday.

Suryo’s car, a Toyota Vios, was later found by Ciranjang Police in the Citarum rest area.

The body was examined at Cianjur General Hospital and identified by Suryo’s relatives, said Ciranjang Police chief Comr. Syafril Lubis.

The medical report showed that Suryo’s body bore several bruises and wounds.

Separately, Bandung Police chief Sr. Comr. Hendro Pandowo said his team was coordinating with the Cianjur Police to investigate the cause of Suryo’s death. (rdi/wit)
