A

search and rescue team has recovered the bodies of four students of Hidayatullah Islamic Junior High Boarding School in Depok, West Java, who drowned at Cidora Beach in Garut, West Java. A fifth student remains missing.

Iwan Ruswanda, secretary of the school, said Thursday that the bodies of Faizal Ramadhan, Khalid Abdullah Hasan and Rizal Amrullah were recovered on Wednesday afternoon while Vishnu Dwi's body was recovered on Thursday morning.

He added that the team was still trying to find M. Syaifullah Abdul Aziz.

“We are hoping that everyone prays for us,” Iwan said as quoted by tempo.co.

Previously, 23 students went to the beach after finishing an exam on Monday. Iwan said that 13 of them were swimming when a big wave hit on Tuesday evening.

“We rescued eight of them but five others were dragged out by the waves,” he said, adding that they had been warned not to swim in the sea. (dra/jun)
