he city administration will start renovating Muara Angke Port in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, by installing 100 meters of sheet piles near the port.
“The transportation agency proposed to the administration’s budget team that [the budget for] the installation of sheet piles be included in the revised 2017 city budget,” said Sigit Wijatmoko, the Jakarta Transportation Agency deputy head, on Monday as quoted by beritajakarta.id.
He added that installing sheet piles was in line with a plan by the city council’s special team on the renovation of the port. The installation is expected to help curb tidal flooding in the area.
The agency is coordinating with the Jakarta Development Planning Board (Bappeda) and the Water Management Agency.
