ehicles driving on Jl. MH Thamrin in Central Jakarta will be diverted to alternate routes on Wednesday as a result of Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction in the vicinity.
“We will start MRT construction of the eastern entrance of the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in front of the Oil Center and Wisma Kosgoro buildings. We will divert traffic to the middle of the road,” said PT MRT Jakarta corporate secretary Tubagus Hikmatullah in a statement on Wednesday.
The company would divert traffic for a year, reopening the road once the project is complete, he said.
According to a statement from the company, the first phase of MRT construction was 71.39 percent complete as of April 30.
“The work for the depot and elevated section is now 57.52 percent complete, while the underground section is 85.39 percent complete,” Tubagus said. (kuk)
