T

he West Jakarta Police have launched a manhunt for a man who allegedly raped and killed a 13-year-old girl in Cengkareng, West Java, on Saturday.

According to West Jakarta Police criminal unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Andi Adnan, the victim was found by her grandfather in the attic of their house.

“The victim was found curled on a bed, with her neck, hands and legs tied,” said Adnan as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com on Sunday.

He said the police’s investigation had pointed them toward a friend of the victim’s father as a possible suspect.

“We are still on the hunt for the perpetrator,” Adnan said.

He elaborated that the victim was raped and killed.

“She was raped at the crime scene as indicated by traces of blood found on her pillow. We are still questioning people to find out more,” said Adnan.
