he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) apprehended several senior councillors of the Mojokerto City Council in East Java on Friday evening.
KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah confirmed the report.
Febri, however, refused to disclose further details of the arrests.
Local media reported six senior councillors were implicated in the corruption case.
This is the second operation carried out by the KPK in the past month. Earlier in June, the KPK also carried out a sting in Surabaya, East Java.(ecn/dmr)
