akarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Mochamad Iriawan has said the police have arrested seven out of 11 members of the armed robbery group behind the deadly shooting of a bank customer at the Daan Mogot filling station in West Jakarta on June 9.

“We are still hunting down four other suspects to settle this case,” Iriawan said Wednesday.

According to Iriawan, the armed robbers, dubbed by local media outlets as “Jakarta’s Ocean’s Eleven”, are on the police’s wanted list. The gang often targets bank customers.

“They have committed 24 robberies in separate locations so far. Some in West Java, Jakarta and Bogor,” Iriawan said.

Police have arrested seven suspects, DTK, TP, M, RCL, NZR, IR and SF. The last two were shot dead upon their arrest.

The robbery went viral minutes after the incident with eyewitnesses circulating video footage and photos of the victim, Davidson Tantono, 31. The robbery took place in broad day light on the busy Jl. Raya Daan Mogot.  (dmr)
