“There were 105,142 visitors yesterday. We predicted the daily figure would reach up to 150,000 visitors during this Idul Fitri holiday season,” Monas management head Sabdo Kurnianto told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

He said during regular months Monas only got about 3,000 daily visitors on weekdays and 8,000 on weekends.
“We also have the TNI [Indonesian Military], the National Police and Satpol PP [Public Order Agency] to help us by heightening security,” he said.
A security check is being conducted at every gate, Sabdo said. “The management tries to give the best services to visitors,” he said, adding that Monas is closed every Monday for maintenance and cleaning.
“We expect the visitors not to litter around the area. They tend to leave drink bottles or snack packages on the ground,” he said. (dra/bbs)
