ongHyup Korindo Securities Indonesia has invested between US$500,000 and $1 million to upgrade its mobile trading system in an effort to increase its 2017 customer reach by fivefold.
The investment is part of the total $5 million the brokerage firm has invested in its online trading system over the years, said NH Korindo president director Jeffry Wikarsa on Monday.
New features in the mobile trading app provide investors with more detailed information about each stock traded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), as well as the auto trading feature.
The company expects the mobile app to cater to customers living in remote areas that its branch offices find difficult to access.
“We are targeting to cater to 10,000 new customers until the end of this year with this online platform,” Jeffry said.
NH Korindo is a joint venture securities company in which the Korea-based NH Investment & Securities Co. owns 80 percent shares and the Korindo Group owns 20 percent shares. (bbn)
