T

wo youngsters, identified only as M, a woman, and MD, a man, have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of ecstasy after the Honda CVR car driven by M reportedly hit a Volvo car driven by a police officer at the Halim toll road in East Jakarta on Monday.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said that after the car was hit, a police officer stepped out from the car to question M.

“The officer asked her why she hit his car. While raiding her car, the police found six ecstasy pills,” Argo said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.

The police took M and MD to the Jakarta Police drug unit office after the incident.

From the urine tests, both were proven to have consumed amphetamines, Argo said.

According to the police, the incident occurred after M and MD bought 12 pills of ecstasy in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

M had taken two pills while MD took four pills, Argo said, adding that the police were still investigating the case. (cal)
