hese are some of the developments we will be following today

  • United States President Donald Trump's drive to abolish Obamacare scraped through a key Senate vote Tuesday, following the return of Senator John McCain, who came to the rescue by casting a vote that would allow debate on the effort to replace the Affordable Care Act currently in place.
  • Following a move by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to name House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto a suspect in the e-ID graft case, which many saw as a blow to the House, lawmakers have called for the halting of a House inquiry into the KPK's handling of a number of graft cases.
  • The Constitutional Court holds the first hearing on a judicial review request filed by Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), which is challenging the legality of its disbandment by the government.  
  • President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is holding a meeting with World Bank president Jim Yong Kim, following the latter's comment on the dominant role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the country's economy which have deterred private investment.
