ndonesian archers Sri Ranti and Prima Wisnu Wardhana bagged the first two medals for the country in the 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games at the National Sports Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday.
Indonesia led the medal tally after winning two golds in Wednesday’s run, followed by Malaysia with a gold, silver and bronze.
Sri won the women’s individual compound after beating Vietnam’s Chau Kiew Oanh, with a total score of 144, Indonesia’s National Olympic Committee (KOI) has said.

Meanwhile, Wisnu was victorious in the men’s individual compound after outwitting host archer Mohd. Juwaidi Prima, having earned a score of 145.
KOI chief Erick Thohir hopes the win is one of many to come in the competition.
“I hope the gold medals triggers more wins,” Erick said on Wednesday.
The biennial games will run until Aug. 30, featuring 4,000 athletes from Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Indonesia.
